Hi GL,
The reason your last post was not approved was that it was linked to an obscene picture. If you want to re-post it, excluding the offensive material, I'd be happy to approve it.

Dear Martin,

You say you're inviting copywriters to comment on your writing. "Do your worst", were your exact words. Yet you haven't published my comments. Why not? You've published another comment since I submitted my original comment yesterday afternoon.

It seems to me you're willing to publish comments so long as they're not overly critical, which suggests your asking us to comment was disingenuous at best.

Feel free to send me an email, if you'd prefer.

Kind regards,

GL

Hi Tom,
Thanks for taking the time to read the case study and to point out a couple 'minor' punctuation and grammar mistakes, which as you point out, 'most people will not notice.' Certainly it didn't seem to bother the website which published the story...

The aim of the release wasn't for SEO purposes, in any case, 'keyword density' is a bit old hat these days, wouldn't you agree? I'd much prefer to have lots of semantically related terms, which should occur naturally within the text.

Now, apart from conducting a phone interview with the client to further elaborate on the services of MJR and correcting these minor errors, what else would we have got for the amount you charge?

I am assuming, of course, that your fee for writing a press release is more than £15?

I think the best way to describe this content is 'fit for purpose'. It does the work it needs to do, and no more.

There are a number of minor punctuation and grammar errors that most people will not notice (commas, that/which etc).

If I was working on this release, I would have sought a phone interview with CMS to secure a direct endorsement of MJR, rather than just a plug for their own product. To close the loop, we need to know why they chose MJR *specifically*, and what benefits were delivered, otherwise there's an impression of them buying 'off the shelf'. The per-word model, as discussed, discourages this type of initiative.

A backlink off a key phrase ('vehicle tracking') is included, but the keyword density for this phrase is low. If the release was for syndication across the key online PR networks, the text and title would need more optimisation to get full SEO benefit for CMS (if that's the aim).

All in all I think it's OK, both as an example of how far you can go with a service like Copify and also an indication of the value that could be added with a more considered approach. You pays your money...

Nikki,
These are just a few pointers for people to bear in mind, not a definitive step-by-step approach. I feel that the '10 facts about' format is fairly self explanatory and it's fairly safe to assume that people who work in the industry are aware of H tags.

You do, however, make a valid point about longer tail keywords, something I could indeed have mentioned.

Hi

I have a problem with your post in that it doesn't explain 'How' to construct SEO copy, as in explain a step-by-step procedure. It also presupposes that people actually understand what you mean by the '10 facts about' format or that they know what the H1-H3 tags are. Wouldn't it be better to explain these?

I'm surprised you don't mention long tail keyword search terms, since these can often rank higher in search engines than short tail keywords.

As far as I am concerned this website has opened up another avenue of revenue for myself (and everyone else on here moaning like little girls).

Good job guys, I hope this is a success and my only advice is to stick it out and take the abuse.

Yes you have undercut the "competition", but ho-hum, thats business.

Pat on the back.
